To cut to the chase, I am requesting detailed guidance about where to find all of the nutty places that Windows mitght be undermining and entirely
bypassing "wizmo autoblank=0".
Background:
For years now, my screen has blanked out after X minutes. There is no Energy Saver or Timeout setting within Samsung monitors that I use.
Last week, I froze Windows at this version, thanks to GRC's 'InControl':
The only other processes running are Photoshop and Chrome. Changing the browser that I used has never helped anything.
I believe that I have meticulously followed GRC's wizmo instructions for turning OFF the screen timeout feature.
I have two dedicated desktop shortcuts that look like this:
They each execute one of these commands found in the Properties 'Target' cell (which I understand is where a process is actually launched from a command line instruction):
C:\Windows\System32\wizmo.exe autoblank=0
C:\Windows\System32\wizmo.exe autoblank=1
The wizmo instructions suggest that I should dispense with the ".exe" extension, but Windows will autocorrect this...
C:\Windows\System32\wizmo autoblank=0
...into this...
C:\Windows\System32\wizmo.exe autoblank=0
Those are all of the details that I think I can provide.
I'll paraphrase the first question I asked:
Would you please give me hit list of Windows settings that I need to turn off or on in in order for this blessed 'autoblank=0' control to do its thing?
Thank you all so very much!
