  • BootAble – FreeDOS boot testing freeware

    To obtain direct, low-level access to a system's mass storage drives, SpinRite runs under a GRC-customized version of FreeDOS which has been modified to add compatibility with all file systems. In order to run SpinRite it must first be possible to boot FreeDOS.

    GRC's “BootAble” freeware allows anyone to easily create BIOS-bootable media in order to workout and confirm the details of getting a machine to boot FreeDOS through a BIOS. Once the means of doing that has been determined, the media created by SpinRite can be booted and run in the same way.

    The participants here, who have taken the time to share their knowledge and experience, their successes and some frustrations with booting their computers into FreeDOS, have created a valuable knowledgebase which will benefit everyone who follows.

I'm used to consume media at 1.5 - 2.0x, super happy when finally Netflix introduced the feature in iOS/iPhone and Web,

few months ago I got the VITURE One Lite XR Glasses, to be able to watch while walking as if I have a huge screen in front, and that works great, except the playback speed selector is greyed out in Netflix, not the case if playing the same show without the glasses, and not the case with the glasses and Apple TV,

any idea what is going on? is this a Netflix restriction? a VITURE limitation? anything I can do on my end?
 
I would guess that it is a limitation of the glasses. They may not have enough processing power to handle media at higher speeds.

It could also be a result of whatever "User-agent string" the glasses declare when connecting to Netflix. They may either not advertise the ability to change speeds, or specifically say they cannot do so.
