I know the segment is called "Picture of the Week", but this is a story that I have to tell in three pictures.
In picture 1, we see what appears to be a typical "low clearance" barrier, the kind you might see before a drive-thru lane, or perhaps an entry to a parking garage, to warn an over-height vehicle that they might be too tall to fit. The sign on this hanging beam clearly states the vehicle must be lower than seven foot, two inches to pass safely. So what is the sign protecting?
In the second picture, we see a wider view of the area. It's an empty parking lot.
But what is that on the other side of that parking lot?
Picture three, from the other side, has a second warning beam, hanging before the same parking lot, with the clearance also painted seven foot, two inches. So we have two overhead beams, apparently protecting each other, on either side of an outdoor parking lot, with has clearance of seven foot, two inches.
To be fair, perhaps these were installed to protect the roof overhang which runs along the wall. But wouldn't have been cheaper to paint the warning on the roof overhang?
