Unfortunately, this week's Picture of the Week has completely drawn my attention from the rest of the show. We used to call those inflatable above ground pools, Funny Pools. I thought that was a brand name, but Google isn't being helpful. They're designed to be set up outdoors, so I doubt a flooded basement will be this guy's main problem (unless he has a kitty
).
The pool looks to me like it's a 12 footer, maybe 15 ', judging by the door, fridge and post size and spacing. Let's say the sides are about 4 ' high. A math guy can figure out the volume of the water contained in the curve. That ain't me.
Presumably, the pool owner can find an appropriate heater. Maybe he should watch that Seinfeld episode where Kramer puts a hot tub in his apartment first.
The real problem is the humidity. If he heats that water (I expect it's already damp down there) goodbye upstairs rafters. It'll be great if you're mold! And I'm also concerned about that light fixture. I'll bet that's not on a ground fault interrupt protected circuit.
Anyhow, I know we all want an indoor pool, but that's just not the way. Sometimes the path not followed is not followed for a reason.
