Should this forum be restricted to SQRL login?

  • BootAble – FreeDOS boot testing freeware

    To obtain direct, low-level access to a system's mass storage drives, SpinRite runs under a GRC-customized version of FreeDOS which has been modified to add compatibility with all file systems. In order to run SpinRite it must first be possible to boot FreeDOS.

    GRC's “BootAble” freeware allows anyone to easily create BIOS-bootable media in order to workout and confirm the details of getting a machine to boot FreeDOS through a BIOS. Once the means of doing that has been determined, the media created by SpinRite can be booted and run in the same way.

    The participants here, who have taken the time to share their knowledge and experience, their successes and some frustrations with booting their computers into FreeDOS, have created a valuable knowledgebase which will benefit everyone who follows.

The existing forum is fine, but would it be useful to expand this forum to include all forum authentication problems and not just those related to SQRL?

What about other forum account issues as well? I don't see another forum for discussing the GRC Forums, so could we use this one as an umbrella for forum-related issues? I understand if the whole point of the "SQRL" specificity was to avoid generalized forum issues, though; I'm just curious.

Given that yours is the first and only thread created here, whereas the other topics have many, and that this is about GRC freeware, I'm strongly inclined to simply remove this topic. (And thanks for bringing it to my attention, indirectly! (y))
 
I think it might be wise to wait until SpinRite 6.1 actually releases. That will likely bring a lot of registered members out of the wood work to login for the first time in a long time? And since the (so far rare) SQRL login failures seem in part time related . . .

If nothing happens then, perhaps there is no SQRL logon issue to be concerned with.

To address Rob's concern, perhaps this sub-forum could be re-titled. But there has apparently been no other issues to comment on here . . .
