I'm accumulating a dozen or so 2.5" SATA SSD drives from various upgrades to larger SSD drives over the years.

Any recommended USB enclosures or NAS devices to pool them together into a tidy storage array?

I could get some IcyDock containers for inserting them into 3.5" drive arrays for a Synology NAS if need be but thought I'd poll the great knowledge base here before going that route.

Yes, Synology makes (a) device(s) focused on SSDs and you can also add SSD (NVMe even) caching to drives with spinning rust. (Having done this, I can't say I notice any benefit, but it's not worse at least.)

I believe Drobo also makes a device or more that takes SSD's. (Personally not a fan of Drobo, but your mileage may vary.)

Agreed on the Drobo front - I've had spinning drives fail in it, scan the drive & not find any problems with it, wipe the drive & reinsert it and Drobo is happy again (for a while).
