The drop in performance of an SSD due to bit-rot has been established, and running SpinRite level 3 is one method of restoring the performance. But is it necessary to do this on 100% of the drive or just the slow portion. For example, ReadSpeed and the Spinrite Benchmark show that the first 25-30% of the drive is slower than the rest. Would running SpinRite level 3 on just the first part of the drive be sufficient? Does the SSD's allocation of sectors to any physical area of the drive have an impact?
