  • BootAble – FreeDOS boot testing freeware

To obtain direct, low-level access to a system's mass storage drives, SpinRite runs under a GRC-customized version of FreeDOS which has been modified to add compatibility with all file systems. In order to run SpinRite it must first be possible to boot FreeDOS.

GRC's “BootAble” freeware allows anyone to easily create BIOS-bootable media in order to workout and confirm the details of getting a machine to boot FreeDOS through a BIOS. Once the means of doing that has been determined, the media created by SpinRite can be booted and run in the same way.

The participants here, who have taken the time to share their knowledge and experience, their successes and some frustrations with booting their computers into FreeDOS, have created a valuable knowledgebase which will benefit everyone who follows.

You may click on the image to the right to obtain your own copy of BootAble. Then use the knowledge and experience documented here to boot your computer(s) into FreeDOS. And please do not hesitate to ask questions – nowhere else can better answers be found.

Hello I'm looking for a Firefox extension that will save my current session when I close Firefox and then reopen the session it when I reopen Firefox it would also be helpful if it could sync between computers, but that is not as much a big deal. I figured this crowd would probably know a good one.

Ummm... this is built into Firefox, unless you changed the setting to disable it in the Privacy settings. Just go to History and there should be the option to resume the previous session.
ok, I did not know that, I will check that out, TY

Create a Firefox login, and then all will be saved and applied to any
other Firefox session under that sign in - Bookmarks, Sessions,
History, Extensions, and so on, are available to all your computers
under that account.

Let me Google that for us:

Q: Google, how do I create a Firefox account?

A: To create a Firefox account, go to the Mozilla accounts signup page, enter your email, create a password, and provide your age. You will then need to verify your email by entering a 6-digit code sent to your inbox. After verification, you can sign in to your new account on any Mozilla service, including the Firefox browser, to sync your data across devices. [1, 2, 3]

Step-by-step guide
  1. Navigate to the Mozilla accounts signup page.
  2. Enter your email address and click Sign up or sign in.
  3. Create a password and enter your age in the provided fields, then click Create account.
  4. Check your email for a confirmation message from Mozilla.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from the email into the verification box on the signup page.
  6. Once confirmed, you can use your new account to sign in to the Firefox browser and other Mozilla services. [1, 2, 3]
